This site is home to Alea Publishing & Recording, specializing in music for the bass clarinet.
We offer a growing catalog of creative, artistic transcriptions and new works for bass clarinet solo & ensemble.
Weber's Andante & Hungarian Rondo Op.35 is quite effective in this arrangement for bass clarinet and piano by Dalton Ringey. The work was originally composed in 1809 for viola, although this version was not published for more than a century. The composer revised the work for bassoon in 1813, and it was in this form that it was published in 1816. The bassoon version is the basis for this arrangement.
The work is similar in both style and difficulty level to the composer's familiar Concertos and Concertino for clarinet. This arrangement therefore adds to very useful repertoire for contest, audition, or recital. Maintaining the keys of the original (C minor/major) places this arrangement in the comfortable keys (D minor/major) for the bass clarinet soloist.
Extended-range instrument required. Score: 15 pages, spiral bound; Part: 4 pages, single-sheet.

Duo Alea began performing music for bass clarinet and piano in 1996. As both performers searching for new repertoire and teachers working with students eager to develop as performers, it quickly became clear that there was a need for more repertoire featuring the bass clarinet. Filling this need became the mission of Alea Publishing & Recording.
Since our first publication in 1997, the Bach Suites, the Alea catalog now includes well over 200 titles. As performing musicians ourselves, we pride ourselves on the accuracy and quality of our sheet music, as well as our ability to ship directly to customers around the world.
As our catalog grows, we offer an open call for scores - e-mail us for more information! In addition to new works, we are also interested to consider artistic transcriptions for publication. We are proud of the diversity of our catalog in terms of the inclusion of works by composers and arrangers from around the world. We are interested in continuing to expand this diversity, representing musical ideas from around the world.
