This site is home to Alea Publishing & Recording, specializing in music for the bass clarinet.
We offer a growing catalog of creative, artistic transcriptions and new works for bass clarinet solo & ensemble.
Mozart's Divertimenti contain some of the most charming, beautiful, and intimate music Mozart ever composed. In addition to the five Divertimenti, K.229 (439b), this transcription includes the Divertimento based on themes from The Marriage of Figaro. This transcription for two clarinets and extended-range bass clarinet gives the clarinetist the opportunity to experience the music of Mozart as close to the way he heard it as probably could be achieved on modern instruments.
The transcriptions are completely faithful to the original, and afford the player and the audience a real view into the period. They are great fun to play, and we hope you enjoy them! A complete recording of the works is also included with the sheet music. In February 2015, Alea released of the 2nd Edition; the Divertimenti was one of our earliest publications, originally released in 2001.
Extended-range instrument required for bass clarinet part. Clarinet I/II score: 54 pages, spiral bound; Bass Clarinet part: 31 pages, spiral bound.2-CD Set, total play 103:08
Duo Alea began performing music for bass clarinet and piano in 1996. As both performers searching for new repertoire and teachers working with students eager to develop as performers, it quickly became clear that there was a need for more repertoire featuring the bass clarinet. Filling this need became the mission of Alea Publishing & Recording.
Since our first publication in 1997, the Bach Suites, the Alea catalog now includes well over 200 titles. As performing musicians ourselves, we pride ourselves on the accuracy and quality of our sheet music, as well as our ability to ship directly to customers around the world.
As our catalog grows, we offer an open call for scores - e-mail us for more information! In addition to new works, we are also interested to consider artistic transcriptions for publication. We are proud of the diversity of our catalog in terms of the inclusion of works by composers and arrangers from around the world. We are interested in continuing to expand this diversity, representing musical ideas from around the world.
