About the Work
Jump (1998) is an original work for solo bass clarinet by Australian composer Robert Davidson. The single-movement work is arranged in three small sections - fast, slow, fast. The composer was inspired by the contrapuntal nature of passages from Bach's cello suites, as well as a desire to show off the wide range of the bass clarinet.
Jump is an excellent performance piece for the advanced player, and would make an outstanding addition to any recital program. This publication includes program notes written by the composer.
Extended-range instrument required. 4 pages, loose-leaf.
Purchasing this edition will allow you to download the score in PDF format. If you would prefer to receive a hard-copy, please purchase that edition instead.

Duo Alea began performing music for bass clarinet and piano in 1996. As both performers searching for new repertoire and teachers working with students eager to develop as performers, it quickly became clear that there was a need for more repertoire featuring the bass clarinet. Filling this need became the mission of Alea Publishing & Recording.
Since our first publication in 1997, the Bach Suites, the Alea catalog now includes well over 200 titles. As performing musicians ourselves, we pride ourselves on the accuracy and quality of our sheet music, as well as our ability to ship directly to customers around the world.
As our catalog grows, we offer an open call for scores - e-mail us for more information! In addition to new works, we are also interested to consider artistic transcriptions for publication. We are proud of the diversity of our catalog in terms of the inclusion of works by composers and arrangers from around the world. We are interested in continuing to expand this diversity, representing musical ideas from around the world.
